Romy, the 160hz horn and 425hz horn both sit on top of the bass box, i.e the one is not above the other. Part of the smaller 42cm horn hangs over the front of the box so I'd say the top 30cm of it is above the top of the box and is obscuring the 160h...

We have two models with different upper bass horns, one is indeed a 140hz horn (77 cm diameter) and the original, bigger horn at 110 hz (92 cm diameter) Both tactrix both made from the same materials (MDF) and finished in the same automotive finish.T...

Romy, I understand you are saying that a midrange horn rated flat to 300HZ should really be crossed at 600 or 1200 HZ. That claim doesn't make sense to me, esp. with a 24 db or higher crossover (active). Unless you are saying that hor...

Merry Christmas!Nice woodworking job on your speakers.I have a couple if questions:Why did you select the drivers that you did? What made you select one horn for the midrange but for nothing else? What process did you use to select the crossover points...

I have just taken out of my system a First Watt F5 clone Tim Rawson amp, It was substituted by a Telefunken PP amp with 6AQ5 tubes. Let me to explain.

KlausMartin (Azura horn ) is making for me extension to 2.75" (BC 8p21)and 1.4" for 204 Hz (altec 288c) .He also developed 550 hz horn for S2 . He understands importance of smooth driver -throat transition . It would be ready to go solution for...

ltsv38, it is an interesting solution for lower midrange horn. If I use something like this for Macondo ‘s fundamental channel (but of cause spherical) then I would flip the horn with driver up and run the neck longer to accommodate a slower, expone...

[quote user="haralanov"] The horns, even the fast opening ones are physically too deep for their mouth’s size, and this leads to a psychoacoustic illusion that the sound images are arrested at the bottom of the horn and from there they scream they wa...

[quote user="Rewind"] I kind of got stuck in selecting an upper midrange driver, above 2kHz. If a driver is going to screech in your ears it is going to be in these frequencies. I was never really satisfied with the range of 1" compression driver...

Paul,

Hi,I am slowly building my own Macondo. I understand why the injection channel is there. It brings some kind of softness that the compression drivers lack. I am using a 12" JBL midbass driver (~100dB sensitivity) in a 50L single driver Marshall cabin...

I was slowly looking for a compression driver that would go in my Fundamental Chanel down to 200Hz. The YL Acoustic 550N attracted my attention. Then I realized that it is the narrow throat type of the drivers, aka WE555, not exactly that I would...

I want to share what I feel is a good application of an injection channel, as introduced by Romy. But this is different and also useful and i can tell you it works and very well. Of course, I do not recommend to use this application in the same exact...

First off, I will point out that neither Silbatone nor I claim or agree that the Aporia horn is a point source, because clearly it is not. The sound comes from two "areas" but even that is not a particularly useful notion.Although some do make that c...
